Lead Veterinary Surgeon Aberdare Wales

We are currently seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to lead our Aberdare practice in the Wales region on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be an experienced vet with excellent communication skills and a client-centered approach. They should have at least 3-5 years of small animal practice experience in the UK or its equivalent. The role requires a motivated vet who can confidently work in a leadership position, make sound clinical judgments, and interact effectively with team members.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with most routine surgeries and medicine, work well as part of a team, be at ease with some sole charge responsibilities, and share our core values of being caring, progressive, and trustworthy.

As part of our regional team, you will collaborate with our skilled and experienced vets, share your expertise, and use our state-of-the-art equipment to deliver the highest standard of care.

We are flexible and willing to accommodate a bespoke work pattern to suit the candidate’s needs, including part-time or variable hours.

For full-time positions, we offer a salary of up to £75,000 depending on experience, a four-day workweek, five weeks of annual leave, four weeks of paid sabbatical after each five years of service, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, a £1,500 CPD Allowance plus three days CPD leave, payment of RCVS, BVA, and VDS fees, the option of a company vehicle, support with certificates and career development, access to wellbeing support and an EAP programme, and discounts for days out, high street, and holidays.

We also offer relocation allowances if you are moving more than 50 miles from your current home address and support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK. Additionally, we support vets who are interested in studying towards certificates.

The candidate must be able to work sole charge and complete routine surgeries.
