Job description: We are currently recruiting a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to work in a very well established veterinary practice in Stoke Newington, North East London. You will be working alongside a Certificate Holder in Surgery within a well-equipped practice including digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, tonometer, bronchoscope and endoscope, blood pressure machine, ECG, full lab including microscope, haematology and biochemistry analyser, bone kit as well as full ex-lap kit including suction and diathermy and more. There is also a very nearby hospital for all out of hours with access to CT and MRI.

The ideal candidate will be confident with ideally at least 2 years experience working at a busy small animal practice/hospital. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team.

Stoke Newington is a 3 vet practice. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced vets including Certificate Holders and a Diplomate.

Location details: With its mix of leafy parklands, vibrant social scene, and array of independent businesses, Stoke Newington is among the best places to live in North London. At the neighbourhoods epicentre, the High Street is dotted with numerous bars, pubs, restaurants and cafés. You can also be in Central London within 30 minutes.

Salary and benefits: The Stoke Newington practice runs a 4-day week rota to assist with an excellent work life balance. This is a 4 day week role and you will have to work 1 in 3 Saturdays. This role offers a very competitive salary package up to £72000 depending on experience as well as a generous CPD allowance of £1500 CPD with 3-days CPD leave is also designed to drive your progress, balanced by a 4-day week with 5 weeks annual holiday allowance plus bank holidays. On top of this your RCVS, VDS and BVA membership will be fully paid.

We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.
